How to Make a Butter Board

A butter board is super easy to make and can be used with your favorite ingredients.

Use a good quality butter for our butter board. Then add your favorite toppings. For this recipe, we caramelized onions and mushrooms, topping those ingredients off with fresh herbs.

Here’s a few other suggestions for a butter board:

  • Butter, Roasted garlic, lemon, thyme, chives, red pepper flakes, spicy chili oil and honey
  • Butter, Goat cheese, figs, strawberries, honey, cinnamon and crushed walnuts
  • Butter, fried garlic, steak seasoning, fresh parsley
  • Butter, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, sea salt, prosciutto, chili infused olive oil

Then simply serve your butter board with toasted bread, crackers, pretzels or your family’s favorite rolls!

DID YOU KNOW? Most farmed mushrooms are grown indoors. Monterey Mushrooms® teamed up with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to replicate vitamin D-rich sunlight indoors and created a full line of mushrooms that produce and retain 50% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin D per serving, even after cooking! Learn more here.

Eating a dozen of Monterey Mushrooms’ medium-sized “High Vitamin D” mushrooms provides all the vitamin D you need in a day! That’s important because our modern lifestyles have us indoors and away from the sun, which is the typical way our bodies receive vitamin D.
